WorldWide Drilling Resource
32 JUNE 2018 WorldWide Drilling Resource ® Intentions and Doing Right by Tim Connor Intentions are wonderful, but action and follow-through are what really matter. It’s not what you say that really influences others for the long-term, but how you behave. I have been guilty of saying and doing - or not say or doing - things I didn’t mean, but I was always able to convince myself that somewhere in my consciousness I really meant them. In the end, I wasn’t fooling anyone - you or me. I have always tried to honor my stated intentions to others or to myself, but like everyone, I am guilty from time to time of intentionally or subtly trying to influence others as a manipulative tool. I can only tell you - in the end - this is an exhausting way to live. It takes courage, emotional congruence, and inner integrity to only say and do what you really mean. In the end, truth will always rule. Convenient, or right? It’s amazing how so many people are more motivated by their selfish interests than serving others. Doing what is right is rarely easy, and often forces us to dig deep into our values, beliefs, and who we really are. Living an other-centered life can be frustrating and rewarding - it’s just a matter of perspective. I could give you dozens of examples where people seem oblivious to the fact they share this life they have been given with others, and that they need to rely on many of these people for their needs, as well as their desires. Doing what is right rather than convenient tests your integrity, beliefs, spirituality, and the willingness to let go and surrender. What is right? Two of my favorite lines I heard from a speaker friend years ago are: “Would you rather by happy, or right?” and “Make sure everything you do and say is as if the town gossip were always at your side.” In His service, Tim To receive Tim’s weekly FREE motivational booster articles, contact him at www.timconnor.com with “please add me to your free booster e-mail subscriber list” in the subject line.
