Protecting Groundwater One Event at a Time by Ed Moranski, Chief Marketing Officer, WorldWide Drilling Resource ® The Empire State Water Well Driller’s Association (ESWWDA) Annual Meeting was held January 14 and 15, at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York. This industry event is never disappointing, and continues to grow in both exhibitors and attendees each year. The convention experienced sunny skies with above normal temperatures for January, and was a welcome change from past years. This gave visitors the opportunity to view REICHdrill’s 2020 Model RTD69-PTO rig on display in the parking lot. Mike Hetzler, division manager for Northeast Drill Supply (on right in photo above), was on hand to demonstrate and answer questions about the rig. Henry and Julie Boyd packed the lecture hall with their ever popular General Drilling Knowledge & Pump Certification Primer class. This is one of the best. If you have the opportunity to attend, don’t miss it. Patriot Rigs & Services’ Vice President Dillon Sickler had an informative presentation on rig mainte- nance. The 2020 McEllhiney Lecture Series Running A Business or Doing A Job was addressed by Jeff Williams. PFAS: Some things you need to know was discussed and pre- sented by K. Scott King. There was much to learn and absorb from all the speakers. This year’s auction had a special meaning, with the proceeds going to assist “Fans of Dan” who is fighting ALS disease. He is the son-in-law and employee of past ESWWDA President Walter Wyckoff. James Wild conducted his last general membership meeting as president of ESWWDA. He finished out his term and handed the presi- dency over to Tyler Wills of Smith Well Drilling. Best of luck to you, Tyler. The event is in the history books for 2020.
